Everything But by TS CookThis May-September love affair has rules: Everything But. Jimmy and Carry do not make love but do all other things sexual. They generate a lot of heat. Cleo's Girls - a Workshop Production Written by JAN O’CONNOR
We are proud to announce performance dates for Cleo's Girls by Jan O'Connor*. This is the first play to go through the full development cycle at Fierce Backbone and become part of our Workshop Production Series. Please show your support for this outsanding play and help us celebrate the milestone with full houses every night. And...if you are a theater looking for a new play, we have a play looking for a long-term engagement. About the play Charmian and Iras, life-long handmaidens to the Queen of Egypt, are only minor characters in Shakespeare’s Antony & Cleopatra. But in Cleo’s Girls, they take center stage to tell their own story. Inspired by Tom Stoppard’s approach in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, Cleo’s Girls adapts passages from Shakespeare, showing Charmian and Iras in scenes with Cleopatra. But most of the action happens when the girls are not “on stage” an then an entirely different, surprisingly modern story emerges.
